Use a combination tool to strip wire. Strip gauge on back of utlet or switch shows length of stripped wire needed. Insert insulated end of wire into proper hole of combination tool. Press jaws together, then use the thumb to lever tool sideways to strip off insulation. Make quick connections in outlets and switches by stripping wire to length indicated by strip gauge.Press bare wires into pushin terminals. On receptacles, black wire fits into hole nearest darker screw. To release connections, push a nail or tip of small screwdriver into release opening next to wire.

Make a screw terminal connection by stripping about 2 inches of insulation from wire. Wrap wire clockwise around screw terminal so that insulation is flush against screw. To make a neat connection, tighten screw firmly, then bend bare wire back and forth until excess breaks off. Make wire nut connection by stripping off about 5/8 inch of insulation from wire. Use a wire nut that fits size and number of wires to be connected. Hold parallel copper ends together, and screw on wire nut clockwise until bare wires are covered and connection is tight. Tug slightly on wires to check connection.
