Flat-cord: Electrical Repairs: DIY Electrical

Step One:
Cut old plug from cord using combination tool. Separate flatcord wires by pulling the two halves apart. Strip 3/4 inch of insulation on each wire using combination tool.
Step Two:
Remove casing cover. Twist loose strands of bare copper wire together. Hook copper wires clockwise around screw terminals and tighten securely.

Step Three:
Reassemble the plug casing. Replace insulating faceplate, if plug uses one.

Make certain all connections are tight before plugging in. Do not make any adjustments once plug has been inserted into receptacle.
